Some extra magic
Hot weather necessities:
Sunscreen — mineral based. I’ve been buying kids sunscreen because it often has fewer chemicals in it, which is good for us all. And if you have kids, win-win to only buy one kind.
Beach visor and/or beach hat. To shade your beautiful face.
Shady Rays sunglasses. My husband introduced me to these. If you, like me, don’t want to worry about losing or breaking your sunglasses, I recommend these because they’ll replace them if you do. Take $20 off your first order here.
Wish you had an in-ground pool? Here’s the next best thing.
Splurging on: This Yeti lunch bag. Lunches getting too warm on the way to work, the beach, a picnic, or daycare? Not anymore!
Reading: Back to reading June Baby. I had started it earlier this summer but didn’t finish. I love a mind-vacation beach read, but note that this is not that. It delves into grief and loss and deeper feels.
Baking: Even though it’s hot, I can’t resist baking brownies for brownie sundaes! This dark chocolate brownie recipe is for the chocolatiest chocolate lovers.
