CANDY CANE LANE
40+ festive markets, events, and activities happening in and near Del Ray, Alexandria this weekend
We’re bringing this weekend’s newsletter to you together with:
Buongiorno, Happy Friday!
I am coming to you live from Tuscany, Italy. My husband and I came here 2 years ago during the holidays and fell in love with the charm and festive spirit around the holidays.
This time around, we’ve visited friends at wineries, seen the Olympic torch relay, and eaten lots of homemade pici pasta and cantucci cookies. If ever you’re looking to take an Italian adventure, I’m happy to share my favorite areas, places to stay, restaurants, and wineries. Just let me know.
And just as it’s magical here, Del Ray is in for a pure magic weekend as well.
There are holiday markets in Del Ray and nearby around Alexandria, the Candy Cane Bar Crawl, Del Ray Vintage & Flea Market, workshops and crafts, kids’ holiday party, and so much more.
I hope you enjoy all the happenings. Take photos. Share joy. And have a wonderful weekend.

Some extra magic
The holidays are coming! When I was a kid, my mom Santa would often fill my stocking with useful items like toiletries and other small tchotchkes. With this in mind, I would guess Santa would put the following in my family’s stockings this year:
My stocking
Google Pixel Buds Pro 2: To my fellow Android phone people, I’m very excited about these.
Dramamine, because I get motion sick just sitting in a car.
New tinted lip balm, because my lips need some extra nourishment in the wintertime.
Plant watering globes so my plants have a better chance of survival.
Teeth whitening strips, because it’s red wine season.
Dead Sea mud face mask, for self care.
Lotion that will make my dry winter skin feel luxurious.
Ultrasonic retainer cleaner that also doubles as a ring cleaner.
My husband’s stocking
Apple Watch, because his is 11 years old and doesn’t work anymore.
Dental floss, because clean teeth are happy teeth.
New running shoes, because there are holes in his current ones.
Scratch off date night ideas card game, which is really a gift for both of us.
Hand warmers for skiing.
Frustrated golfer socks, because they’re funny.
Bro Mask eye gels, because he needs self care, too.
My dog’s stocking
Golf dog toy, because we golf now.
Adorable reindeer toy because it’s festive.
Big box of Greenies, her favorites.
Tons of treats and things from The Dog Store!
Things that are free…
